Yes! The deadline for the 2012 Pacific Rim International Conference Call for Proposals is right around the corner! We
invite you to share your experience and knowledge with hundreds of people who are passionate and committed to building a world where all can live to
their complete potential.
Proposals for topical and breakout presentations, workshops, poster sessions, symposia and other formal sessions will be considered for inclusion in
the program if submissions are received by January 10, 2012.
To support your attendance Pac Rim 2012 will provide an early acceptance notice within 3-4 weeks of your submission. Please consider submitting a proposal
to what will be an outstanding international conference.

If you are only able to attend one conference next year, choose PacRim 2012 in Waikiki, Hawai‘i at the beautiful
Hawai‘i Convention Center. Traditionally this conference is one of the most exciting for attendees
and presenters—providing a unique balance of cultures, and issues of local, national and international importance. This year’s conference will
seek to better these efforts and provide you with a most unique and exceptional experience—we hope to be seeing you in Honolulu in March, 2012.

In the tradition of Pac Rim, the 2012 conference will revisit familiar themes and explore new directions through scholarship, best practice, and
international networking. We will have several pre and post conference forums and institutes and much, much more. Pre conference activities include the
renowned International Forum on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,
The HeART of Teaching with spiritual and intellectual superstar Dr. Manulani Meyer and others, and
A Youth Advocacy Leadership Summit. With over 200 sessions including Pacific Rim forums and symposia, post-conference summits
and beach activities you will not regret the time spent on our islands. The Web site is updated every 2 weeks and by the middle of December, you will be amazed
at the range of keynote speakers and special events we have in store just for you!
The 2012 Pacific Rim International Conference program design has been reorganized into three broad, thematic, areas: Foundation, the topical areas the
Center for Disability Studies has been or is currently engaged in; Exploration, probing topics that CDS has not previously addressed but have impact on
the security and well-being of all people with disabilities; and Innovation which seeks to showcase new theories, concepts, solutions, ideas and
applications that can benefit people with disabilities during this economic downturn.

Foundation topic areas are: Accessible Worlds, Developmental Disabilities, Disability Studies, Early Intervention, Focus on Youth: Mental Health and Social Change, Focus on Youth: Teen Pregnancy, STI Prevention and Youth Wellness, Hidden Disabilities, Independent Living, Public Health and Disability, Ready to Learn, Ready to Teach, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM),
